The Pension Administrator will be responsible for the annual administration of Qualified Retirement Plans by providing accurate, timely service, and proactive consulting advice to ensure excellent customer service and profitable results.

This job can be performed remotely and is open to candidates across the US.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of administration for an assigned caseload of increasingly complex plans, including maintaining accurate aging reports
  • Analyze provisions in plan documents to ensure compliance with IRS and DOL regulations
  • Analyze census information to determine eligibility, key, and highly compensated employees and input data
  • Calculate employer contributions including related non-discrimination testing and coverage testing while taking into consideration top-heavy status, deductibility limits, and impact of forfeitures as well as other compliance requirements for plans
  • Review pension trust accounting reports and research discrepancies
  • Assist in calculating and processing all distribution types and loans
  • Evaluate takeover plans, identify compliance issues, and coordinate transition of data and communicate effectively with Compliance Consultant
  • Assist in special projects as needed; perform other related tasks as required

Job Qualifications:

  • At least 2-5 years of defined contribution retirement plan administration experience requiring critical thinking, analysis, detail orientation, customer service
  • Experience with ASC pension software strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements regarding employer contribution calculations, deduction limits, contribution deposit deadlines, top heavy determination, coverage testing, controlled groups and annual additions limitations
  • Comprehensive and increasing knowledge of qualified plans
  • Knowledge of all aspects of distributions including minimum distributions, hardship withdrawals, QDROs and loans
  • Knowledge of the current laws and regulations governing qualified retirement plans
  • Software Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, BillQuick, ASC, CATTS and DGEM. Not all required but as much experience as possible preferred
